New high-strength titanium fasteners
The Aerospace Fastener Group of SPS Technologies has published a four-page brochure describing the company's new high-strength, titanium alloy fasteners for use in aerospace applications. The literature details the development of titanium fasteners that offer high tensile and shear strength properties in sizes not possible from standard titanium alloys. Minimum properties for tensile, shear, and fatigue strength are outlined in the brochure.
Tension bolts manufactured from the new 761 titanium alloy can be manufactured to 160 ksi tensile strength in sizes from 3⁄4 in. to 1-1/2 in. diameters. 180 ksi tensile strength fasteners with 108 ksi shear strength levels are also available in sizes up to 1 in. diameter.

Crystalbond adhesives
Aremco Products, Inc. has introduced a new Technical Bulletin A9 that describes its entire family of thermoplastic, temporary mounting adhesives referred to by the trade name Crystalbond. These products are now offered by Aremco to mount ceramics, semiconductors, and metal and optical crystals for dicing, grinding, and polishing operations.
Four products are included in the Crystalbond family of temporary mounting adhesives. These products demonstrate a wide range of properties with respect to flow point, adhesive strength, and solubility. Features of each product include:
- 509: Flows at 250ºF; excellent adhesion to metal, glass, and ceramic; soluble in acetone.
- 555: Flows at 120ºF; good adhesion to glass and ceramic; soluble in hot water.
- 555-HMP: Flows at 150ºF, good adhesion to glass and ceramic, soluble in hot water.
- 590: Flows at 300ºF; excellent adhesion under high vibration to metal, glass, and ceramic; soluble in methanol.
Crystalbond adhesives are easily applied by preheating a mounting plate, melting, and spreading the adhesive in a uniform layer, then positioning the part over the adhesive, allowing the entire assembly to cool. After processing, the Crystalbond is easily dissolved leaving no film or residue.

Samtec has released its new F-206 Full Line Catalog with 350 pages of applications, specifications, and ordering information on panel-to-panel, panel-to-board, cable-to-board, and board-to-board interconnect systems. Applications are detailed by signal integrity interconnects and services, rugged board level interconnects, I/O, RF, cable systems, and micro board-to-board interconnects.
New high-speed products include an expanded line of Data Rate™ single-ended coax and differential pair twinax panel-to-panel and board-to-board cable assemblies; new Edge Rate™ connectors on 0.8 mm (0.0315 in.) pitch; and TNC, BNC, SMA, and N-type RF connectors and cables. The high-density array family has been expanded to include right-angle designs for DPArray™ differential pair arrays. HD Mezz™ is being tooled as an authorized second source to Molex for elevated arrays.
Samtec's Acclimate™ line of IP68 sealed-in circular plugs and receptacles has been expanded beyond USB and Ethernet to include micro pitch high-density, power, and ganged MMCX RF jacks and plugs. Other new products include one-piece, micro card, and combination signal-power interfaces.
