Large swing, big bore geared head lathes
The LA, LB, and LE Series Clausing Large swing extra heavy, big bore geared head lathes
are designed for optimum performance and heavy stock removal, while providing the
versatility required by a large range of industries. Ten models are available with up to
12创 spindle bores, swings of 26.75创, 29创, 33创, 43创, 50创, 54创, 58创,
63.6创, and 67.36创, with 60创 to 280创centers.
All Clausing large swing lathes offer features to ensure accuracy and reliability. For
maximum rigidity, the carriage, apron, and the extra wide one-piece bed are Meehanite
castings. The slideways, tailstock quill, spline shafts, pre-stressed bedways, and all
gears are hardened and ground. The lathes offer a range of feeds--inch, metric, module,
and diametric pitch threads can be cut by simply changing levers. The high torque 18-speed
spindle is supported by precision taper roller bearings, and driven by a single speed
drive motor equipped with and electromagnetic spindle brake. Clausing large swing lathes
also feature automatic lubrication, full-length splash guard, four-position stop, four-way
tool post, six-way rapid traverse, and a thread indicator and dual dials. A wide range of
options is available including roller brackets, five-deg manual spindle indexing, quick
change tool post, tailstock hydraulic quill and pushbutton pneumatic speed change.
The Fagor CNC 8055 TC control provides the operator with an interactive graphic
interface that's easy to use. There's no need for any programming knowledge--any operator
can take care of any need by keying in the machine conditions and the geometric part data.
The Fagor control allows the operator to define cycles and determine the operating
mode--jog, automatic, profiling--minimizing set-up times.

Multi-operation machining center
The KAM machining center offers ultra-rigid milling, drilling, tapping, grinding, and
turning in vertical and horizontal orientations. Unlike machines that require the use of
right angle or multi-axis heads, the KAM allows both milling and turning tools to be
positioned from vertical to horizontal in two degree increments and clamped into position,
providing an ultra rigid location. The milling spindle provides 30 continuous horsepower
with speed ranges from 250-rpm to 4000-rpm. Optional moveable column or Y-axis. Standard
ram spindle is designed for HSK100 tooling and provides both coolant and air through the
spindle and tool.

Insert grades
Milling insert grade GC2030 is suited for austenitic and duplex stainless steels and
other sticky materials, and GC2040 is targeted for extra abrasive ferritic and martensitic
stainless steels, titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel, and pH steels. Both
grades are available in roughing and finishing geometries, and work equally well whether
wet or dry.

Power chucks
The PAF Series of 2+2 jaw power chucks are a closed center style with two separate
clamping motions of opposing jaws, making them ideal for square or angular work. The
chucks are available in sizes 10创, 12创, and 15创 with A Type spindle noses. The
10创 and 12创models have a 0.63 jaw stroke diameter. All models have high clamping
forces. A double acting cylinder, offered by Pratt Burnerd America, is required for
operation.

Servo actuators
The AR servo actuator offers a compact integrated design as the servo amplifier, servo
driver, and controller are integrated into a single unit. It has a self-contained
electronic gear that enables positioning data to be set easily without considering the
machine's reduction gear ratio. The AR servo offers absolute and incremental encoders
supported by the amplifier and a built-in brake control function which is synchronized
with the actuator's on/off functions.

Gear shaper
The Gleason Pfauter GP 300 ES Gear Shaper can change over from spur to helical gears,
or from one helix angle to another, without having to first change the guide to
accommodate the new gear. Where conventional gear shapers use a mechanical or hydrostatic
helical guide to create the E-axis spindle rotation that produces the required helix
angle, the GP 300 ES uses a backlash-free direct drive under CNC control. Any helix angle
within a wide range of stroke rates and length can be created by changing the CNC program.

Diamond
burnishing tool
Toolholders on these diamond burnishing tools are offset so the diamond insert is on
center. The tools produce mirror-like finishes on ferrous and nonferrous part surfaces, on
manual or CNC turning machines. The tools are commonly used on shafts or faces of any
diameter, and can also be applied to large bores. Cogsdill now offers a shorter tool for
use where work length is restricted. The polished diamond insert can be changed easily, on
some models without removing the tool from the machine.

Hardness
testing
The LM-, and LV-series hardness testing systems feature two precision photoetched
measuring lines, changeable field and aperture diaphragm, and dual leafspring indenter
supports for centered indentations. The auto turret on the LM and LV series provides more
precise centering by returning to the same spot every time. Both the LM and LV series are
available in manual, semi-automatic, and automatic video/image analysis systems.
